Crossing the Alps just south of Leogang

Arrive in Leogang on Saturday (transfers will be available from both Salzburg and Munich), check in and meet your guides and other group members at a special welcome dinner.

Sunday morning, the guides will provide an orientation and review the trail choices, region and week’s program. And then head for the mountains!

For the next six days, enjoy your choice of running or riding–or just relaxing. Guided rides and runs on Sunday and Monday are included in the price of your tour package, you can sign up for additional guided rides or runs as well as excursions after the orientation (and throughout the week subject to availability).

If you’d like, take a day off from the mountains and rent a hybrid bike to explore the bike paths and back roads. A favorite ride takes you 35 miles through two river valleys and around the base of the Steinberg Mountain, passing through medieval towns and small farming villages. You can even extend your “range” by hopping on one of the bike cars in the regional train service.

Or go on one of the many excursions offered during the week such as to the Eisriesenwelt, the largest ice caves in the world, or to the Krimml Waterfalls, the highest in Europe.

On Wednesday evening, we’ll gather for a fun evening and a traditional “folkloric” dinner at the historic Priesteregg mountain farm. And on Friday, we’ll have a farewell dinner as we say goodbye to our guides and to Leogang.

On Saturday, transfer to Salzburg for a day of exploration in this historic city. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a final meal (and some final beers) in one of the local beer gardens (payable individually). On Sunday, unfortunately, it’s time to go home.
