Austria Adventure Week is based in the village of Leogang about an hour south of Salzburg in the heart of the Austrian Alps. The region is known for its spectacular landscape and as a top European destination for skiers, mountain bikers and hikers.

Your hotel is at the entry point into a 500-mile network of mountain trails. Either ride or run from your door, or take the cable car to the summit of 5,990-foot Asitz Mountain. From the summit, more than a mile above sea level, trails lead through woods and meadows back to the valley or deeper into the Alps. Hot food, cold drinks and typical Austrian hospitality are rarely far away, both in villages and at mountain inns and huts.

You’ll also be adjacent to Bikepark Leogang, Europe’s largest mountain bike park.

After an active day, relax at the hotel spa, explore Leogang’s medieval town center, or enjoy the best of Austrian cuisine at traditional inns—some dating back hundreds of years.

Leogang lies in the tranquil heart of Austria’s Pinzgau region, where the main ridge of the Alps is at its most beautiful.

There are few large towns in the Pinzgau; smaller villages are more typical. Many farmers still plant and harvest by hand, and village life centers on the church and the market square. The Pinzgau region stretches from the Kitzbuehel Alps in the northwest, to the Hohe Tauern National Park in the south, home to the Grossglockner High-Alpine Road, the most famous scenic route in all of Europe.
